Yes! The Newhouse Career Development Center is open and available to students. The CDC is prepared to assist student in-person or over Zoom. Students can stop by the CDC in Rm. 313, N3 or call us at 315-443-3270 or send an email to <\/span>nhcdc@syr.edu<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

To schedule an appointment with a Newhouse Career Development Center, go to your Handshake<\/a> account. Click the \u201cCareer Center\u201d tab in the upper right corner and select \u201cAppointments\u201d to schedule an appointment with the CDC.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/article>\n\n\n

How do I get my resume or cover letter reviewed? \"Plus<\/div>\n

Before the Newhouse Career Development Center reviews your resume, you should attend the CDC\u2019s R\u00e9sum\u00e9 and Cover Letter Writing seminar<\/a> to learn the foundations of crafting these materials from a communications industry perspective. After you have taken the seminar, you can email <\/span>nhcdc@syr.edu<\/span><\/a> with the subject line \u201cR\u00e9sum\u00e9 or Cover Letter Review.\u201d Due to the high volume of requests it will be at least 24 to 48 hours to receive feedback.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/article>\n\n\n

Visit our resources page<\/a> to get quick tips, handouts, articles, podcasts, and videos. We also strongly encourage students to take our seminars<\/a> to gain a better understanding on how to do a proactive internship\/job search. After you have attended a seminar, you can also schedule an appointment with the Newhouse Career Development Center through Handshake<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/article>\n\n\n
