We are seeking talented students who are interested in paid summer internship opportunities within the New York Mets’ front office. Ideal candidates have a long-term goal of working in professional sports. The Summer Internship Program is designed for qualified students who are entering their Junior or Senior year of college. The Interns selected will make a significant contribution to the organization during the 2025 season. In addition to your department, you will be able to explore other aspects of the business through joint projects, participation in lunch & learns, and various networking events. 

As a Mets Video Engineering Intern you will work closely with the New York Mets live event production, content creation and broadcast teams to ensure that Citi Field A/V technology systems are operating normally and meeting the needs of the organization and its partners.

Program Length/Schedule:

The internship will run from June 3rd through August 9th, 2024.
Candidates must be fully available for the duration of the internship.
Work location will be on-site at Citi Field, Flushing, NY 11368.
Please note game day and special event responsibilities include late nights and weekends.
If you are selected to participate in the interview process, the first round will include a digital interview.
The New York Mets will not be providing housing for the internship.​

Qualifications

  • Recent graduate or current student pursuing a degree in Video Production, Audio Production, Computer Science, Broadcast Engineering or a related field. Students from other programs of study with strong interest and experience in Broadcast or A/V are also encouraged to apply
  • Basic understanding of audio and video signal flows and troubleshooting
  • Experience with A/V, Broadcast and Video Production equipment preferred
  • Camera, Audio and Video Productions skills are a plus
  • Working familiarity with Windows and Mac operating systems and common software applications such as Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Serious interest in Broadcast and Video Production technology with a desire to learn and grow your skills in this area
  • Enjoys and thrives in a fast-paced, live event production environment
  • Excellent teamwork, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Creative problem-solving and logistical thinking ability with a desire to identify problems and devise solutions independently
  • Excited for the opportunity to provide live event and engineering support for baseball games and other stadium events which will include work outside of business hours on nights, weekends and holidays

Duties

  • Provide routine technical support to staff, troubleshooting hardware and software issues
  • Configure, test and maintain video equipment such as cameras, microphones and broadcast gear
  • Assist with IPTV system operation and event day system checks
  • Conduct basic troubleshooting of broadcast related equipment and A/V needs for special events
  • Support production control room operation including system upgrades, special events, and technology rollouts
  • Collaborate with Technology and Production team members to identify and implement creative solutions to unique technology challenges
  • Document equipment configurations, troubleshooting steps, and best practices for system use
