Company Information

The Reading League is a national Syracuse-based 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to advancing the awareness, understanding, and use of evidence-aligned reading instruction, aiming to improve literacy education and help all children learn to read.   

We are looking for a student to plan and execute a YouTube Kids strategy. This work can be done fully remotely. We have 60x 22 minute episodes of Reading Buddies, which air on PBS stations around the country and have 88k followers on YouTube.  We have been greenlit to upload content to YouTube Kids, and want to get this terrific educational content in front of early readers!  

Qualifications

  • Comfortable working independently and meeting deadlines
  • You will need to be a good communicator and ask for help when you hit an obstacle
  • You will need to have high attention to detail
  • Familiarity with the back-end of YouTube
  • Writing metadata to increase discoverability and visibility
  • Prepare and upload clips using YouTube Schedule tool.

Duties

  • Plan a two year-long timeline and system for uploading clips
  • Author metadata
  • Upload clips to YouTube and YouTube Kids.

Additional Notes

This is summer work and is flexible. You will have a weekly zoom meeting with a supervisor to discuss progress and challenges. We would like to aim to have each student work 10 hours/week, but if you have summer vacation plans we can work around those too so that you get a break. This is an unpaid internship; college credit can be arranged if desired by the student.
