This unpaid internship program is designed to provide students an in-depth knowledge of the exciting and ever-evolving public relations industry, with an emphasis in the beauty and wellness spaces. You will be immersed in the day-to-day duties of what a publicist role entails, while also gaining valuable experience. While working in a dynamic, goal oriented environment, you will also have the opportunity to tap into your creative side, while learning how to problem solve, plan and execute various PR tactics.
Qualifications
- Someone with a passion for the beauty and wellness industries
- Knowledgeable and interested in keeping up with the latest trends and products
- Organized and detail oriented
- Eager to learn in a fast-paced environment and ability to multitask efficiently
- Avid reader of beauty publications and follower of beauty/fashion/wellness/lifestyle influencers (Instagram, TikTok)
Duties
- Overall PR planning & research
- Participation in team meetings/brainstorms
- Assistance with new product launch initiatives, media events, deskside appointments, etc.
- Understanding the components of a pitch and effective storytelling
- Creative mailing ideation and execution
- Reporting: Cision, MuckRack, SimilarWeb, Google Drive
- Social platforms - Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Pinterest
- Organization of press trackers
- Press clip maintenance
