Astonish Media Group, LLC is a strategic media company based in New York City. Founded in 2000, Astonish offers media services ranging from public relations and branding to content syndication, publishing and client management. The eclectic focus of the agency is the reflection of founders Paula and John Conway, whose backgrounds include entertainment, public relations, publishing, writing, reporting, talent representation and television production.
What is a strategic media company? It’s a company that can not only get you on the TODAY Show, but get your book published, represent you for speaking engagements, help rebrand your business, and create dynamic partnerships with businesses you want to be connected to. Authors, publishers, content aggregators, and publicists, we are many and we are the best at what we do.
Qualifications
- You must have some writing experience and have lots of solid work experience.
- You must be organized, passionate and willing to dig in and commit your time and energy to learn the necessary skills to be a media relations expert.
- PR and writing experience is a plus.
- We seek polite, kind, organized and motivated individuals who love a challenge, are interested in research, love working online, and have some social media experience
- You must be someone who stands by your commitments, completes tasks, and takes your work seriously.
Duties
- Work from anywhere on a variety of public relations, marketing, and media-related tasks, providing support to our PR team, and learning how to be a publicist
- Get clients in the media, build their brands, and create awareness.
- Online research
- Using the public relations database systems (Meltwater, HARO, Qwoted, Muckrack etc.)
- Sending out press releases and tip sheets
- Following up with journalists
- Learning how to pitch and place news stories
- Brainstorming and coming to the team with creative ideas
- Coordinating conference calls and organizing meetings
- Creating media lists and doing social media
