Company Information

The Silver Spring-Takoma Thunderbolts, a team in the summer wooden bat Cal Ripken Collegiate Baseball League, is seeking an intern who is a college or graduate student and wants to serve as an on-air play by play host and manager for video and audio coverage in 2026.

Qualifications

  • The successful candidate will have experience in successfully streaming college sports events, a knowledge of baseball, and expertise in setting up and taking down audio and video equipment.
  • The candidate will work mainly at night and be responsible for travel to all games assigned.
  • Students pursuing a degree in sports broadcasting, journalism, or other related fields are strongly encouraged to apply.
  • Experience in audio/video production and editing preferred.
  • Candidate must be able to and know how to use common and popular digital media programs like OBS streaming software.

Duties

  • The On-Air Play by Play Host and Manager will broadcast live and direct coverage under the guidance of the team’s Director of Media.
  • This offers a significant opportunity to earn valuable experience directing coverage for a sports team and garner clips as a play-by-play sports broadcaster in a major market.
