We’re looking for a creative, curious, and motivated Marketing Content Coordinator to help
tell the story of the Thousand Islands, both sides of the border, during our busiest season. You’ll
be out in the region capturing experiences, creating content, and helping showcase what makes
this place unforgettable.
Whether you're building your portfolio or looking for real-world marketing experience, this is
your chance to create content that actually gets seen and used. The ideal candidate is someone
looking to expand their education and gain real-world experience as they get ready to graduate.
Qualifications
- Love social media and creating content
- Are into travel, experiences, and storytelling
- Can write like a human
- Are organized enough to manage multiple projects
- Don’t mind being on your feet, out exploring
- Are a student working in marketing/communications/design and bring some education/experience already
- Know your way around Canva, CapCut, Adobe, and similar tools
- Have familiarity/experience with image and short-form video editing
- 40 hours/week (some evenings/weekends for events and hosting)
- While it is paid, it makes most sense for a student living within or near our destination (essentially Jefferson County or neighboring counties).
Duties
- Visit local attractions, events, and businesses to capture content
- Shoot photos and short-form video (Reels, TikToks, Stories)
- Write blog posts, captions, and website content that inspire people to visit
- Help plan and schedule content across Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, etc.
- Jump into comments and DMs (yes, you can use emojis)
- Spot trends and pitch ideas with our team
- Assist with seasonal and travel sector campaigns and tourism promotions
- Help organize content calendars and libraries and keep things on track
- Oversee portions of Visit1000islands.com, including event content
- Help us host invited and compensated content creators
