The Reading League is a national Syracuse-based 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to advancing the awareness, understanding, and use of evidence-aligned reading instruction, aiming to improve literacy education and help all children learn to read.   

We are looking for a student to select and edit video clips from the broadcast program Reading Buddies. This work can be done fully remotely. We have 60x 22 minute episodes of Reading Buddies, which air on PBS stations around the country and have 88k followers on YouTube.  We have been greenlit to upload content to YouTube Kids, and want to get this terrific educational content in front of early readers!  

Qualifications

• Comfortable working independently and meeting deadlines
• You will need to be a good communicator and ask for help when you hit an obstacle.
• You will need to have high attention to detail.
• High comfort level with Adobe Premiere
• Ability to organize bins and files cleanly
• Familiarity with Adobe Illustrator / After Effects is a plus

Duties

• Selecting and editing clips from master digital files.
• Help design a clear naming convention for files, log video information, and place front and end cards in each clip.

Additional Notes

This is summer work and is flexible. You will have a weekly zoom meeting with a supervisor to discuss progress and challenges. We would like to aim to have each student work 10 hours/week, but if you have summer vacation plans we can work around those too so that you get a break.
