ABOUT HALLMARK’S INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

We need sharp, energetic people to help us create, engineer, market, and deliver our products worldwide. Hallmark offers summer internships for students pursuing degrees in areas such as Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, Accounting, Graphic Design, Supply Chain Management, Economics, Illustration, Communications, Creative Writing, Engineering, Psychology, Statistics, Physics, Data Science, Computer Science and more! Hallmark’s internship program is held annually, starting late May and ending in early August, and provides the valuable opportunity to apply your classroom knowledge to meaningful projects in a corporate creative environment. In addition, you will gain exposure to Hallmark leadership, learn more about our products and initiatives, connect with employees and interns from other disciplines, and enjoy what life is like in the Kansas City metro area.  

POSITION OVERVIEW
Hallmark is home to some of the most uniquely talented character artists, sculptors, modeling artists, engineers, and illustrators in the country. If you are a conceptual thinker who loves to develop characters and tell stories through illustration, animation, sculpting, and design, this team could be the perfect place for you! If you have top-notch illustration and storytelling skills, animation and 3D modeling/sculpting skills, and a collaborative mindset coupled with a desire to tinker and explore, let’s talk!

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in a visual creative field, with a graduation date in December 2025, May 2026, December 2026, or May 2027.
  • Experience using Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator and/or InDesign).

Duties

  • In this role, you will be involved in every step of the creative process from idea to shelf, including brainstorming, concept sketching, character development, digital rendering/modeling, prototyping, product engineering (including experimenting with light, sound, motion, and magic!), and creating final product solutions.

An uploaded portfolio is also required for this position. Your portfolio should be compiled into one PDF document that is no larger than 5 MB, and uploaded with your resume. If your portfolio file size is above the 5MB limit, you can submit a one-page overview (ex) of your work.

In addition, you can submit a URL to a portfolio website or social media site displaying your portfolio, but only as a supplement to your uploaded portfolio or one-page overview.
