We are looking for interns who are passionate about music and interested in a career in the music industry.
Press Junkie offers an educational based internship program. By the end of the program, you will know the music industry landscape, an understanding of public relations, an understanding of the role of a publicist as it relates to the music business, an understanding of a press release, and a greater appreciation of music.
We are asking for a three-month, 2 -3 days a week commitment, a minimum of 12 hours for one semester. The internship is unpaid (college credit available) – and many perks including free music, and entry to shows. We also offer a stipend of $100 per month for the months of the internship.
Publicity Intern responsibilities include: working closely with publicists to write promotional/press-ready copy, construct press kits, compile media lists & conduct research, press searches, update the website, social media management, update reports and much more.
Qualifications
- Must be enrolled in a 4 year college
- Passion for music
- Willingness to learn about the music industry
- Excellent English communication skills both written and verbal
- Experience with Microsoft Excel and Word
- Understanding editorial media including: popular online community websites, blogs, and social networks
- Excellent organizational skills
- Attention to detail
