Seeking a detail oriented, can-do person for a part-time hybrid role at a fast-paced Television News Agency. In this position, you would be working with a team comprised of a 30-year talent executive and a television producer turned agent in a startup environment. The role requires some in-person hours in a New York office, totaling 4 half-days or 2 full days per week, with a studio set visit at the end of the semester (schedule dependent). Applicants must be able to receive school credit for this position.

Qualifications

  • Interest in the news industry, media, and politics
  • Strong writing and proofing skills
  • Excellent verbal communication skills, including polite phone demeanor
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and perform well in an exciting, fast-paced environment
  • Self Starter
  • Detail oriented and extremely organized
  • Adept at problem solving and thinking creatively
  • Currently pursuing a degree in journalism or communications
  • Social media savvy
  • Proficient in tracking news stories, monitoring headlines, and processing breaking news
  • Familiarity with media monitoring services, such as Cision or TVEyes

Duties

  • Regular tracking and reporting of clients’ TV hits and published stories
  • Monitoring social media accounts
  • Clipping and summarizing top headlines
  • Office responsibilities as directed, could include client gifts and meeting scheduling
  • Research project presentation at the conclusion of the summer
