Seeking a detail oriented, can-do person for a part-time hybrid role at a fast-paced Television News Agency. In this position, you would be working with a team comprised of a 30-year talent executive and a television producer turned agent in a startup environment. The role requires some in-person hours in a New York office, totaling 4 half-days or 2 full days per week, with a studio set visit at the end of the semester (schedule dependent). Applicants must be able to receive school credit for this position.
Qualifications
- Interest in the news industry, media, and politics
- Strong writing and proofing skills
- Excellent verbal communication skills, including polite phone demeanor
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and perform well in an exciting, fast-paced environment
- Self Starter
- Detail oriented and extremely organized
- Adept at problem solving and thinking creatively
- Currently pursuing a degree in journalism or communications
- Social media savvy
- Proficient in tracking news stories, monitoring headlines, and processing breaking news
- Familiarity with media monitoring services, such as Cision or TVEyes
Duties
- Regular tracking and reporting of clients’ TV hits and published stories
- Monitoring social media accounts
- Clipping and summarizing top headlines
- Office responsibilities as directed, could include client gifts and meeting scheduling
- Research project presentation at the conclusion of the summer
