Our Public Relations Internship is designed to introduce students to the world of creative communications. Interns are assigned a supervisor who will help them learn the day-to-day tasks involved in working with multiple agency clients.
Qualifications
- Weekly & Onsite Availability: Capable of dedicating a total of 32 hours per week, while being available for in-office work on Tuesdays & Wednesdays OR Wednesdays & Thursdays from 9:00am – 5:30pm, ensuring consistent attendance for team collaboration and internship program events
- Academic Year: Must be a rising Junior or Senior enthusiastic about pursuing a career in Public Relations, Marketing, or Communications
- Communication Skills: Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Microsoft Office Familiarity: Proficient with Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Media and Pop Culture Enthusiasm: Displays a keen interest in media, pop culture, and entertainment trends, showcasing a passion for staying updated with current events and industry developments
- Commitment to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion: Embodies the values of diversity, equity, and inclusion; demonstrates self-awareness, cultural competency, and the ability to work with people from diverse cultures and backgrounds
- Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a dynamic workplace, showcasing adaptability and resilience
Duties
- Learn Client Strategies: Understanding client goals, target audience, and messaging strategies
- Develop Targeted Media Lists: Develops media lists tailored to specific campaigns and initiatives
- Participates in Media Relations: Conducts media relations from print to digital using proven pitching techniques
- Create Press Clippings: Assists in crafting press materials showcasing client achievements
- Join Client-Related Sessions: Participates in discussions to contribute ideas for PR campaigns
