I'm looking for an intern who is passionate and curious about the cross-section of community and conversation - with a focus on the meaningful content that lives between the two. I am one of the founding members of Swell. This person will work directly with me in two specific areas - mental wellness and book clubs.
For the mental wellness project, we'll be building community around a new Swellcast call “Where the Light Gets In” - www.swellcast.com/hope. We will be promoting this swellcast to people who are looking to engage with each other about personal growth. We will be creating promotion plans that cover both on and off-line placement and outreach.
For the book club project, we will be mining for local book clubs on and off-line that would appreciate the advantages of Swell as a platform for conversation and community building. See the club for The Amen Effect - pinned at the top of www.swellcast.com/books for an example.
This position can be deeply rewarding given the communities we are hoping to build. I am searching for a person who really loves the idea of Swell and the value it brings to people's lives.
Qualifications
- You have deep, solid research skills
- You enjoy the gifts of being organized and focused
- You have a general understanding of social networking (and media) on and off line
- Basic knowledge of where to tap into on-line communities and a deep desire to build more skills through this work
