WHEC-TV is participating in the New York State Broadcasters Association Internship Program for 2026. A candidate will be chosen to complete a summer paid internship, up to 180 hours in which the intern will be exposed to the full array of career opportunities available in the TV Broadcast industry.

This opportunity provides an intern with the chance to witness and experience "first-hand" the operational procedures of a television station.

Qualifications

• Resident of New York State and/or attending a school in New York State
• First time entrant into the program
• Interested in a possible career in the broadcasting industry
• Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job. The Company will make reasonable physical accommodations to facilitate the ability to perform the essential job functions
• Current student, at least 17 years of age
• Ability to work part-time hours

Duties

• Gain exposure to the various departments in the station
• Be in the News department for more in-depth training in: News, Engineering, Creative Services, Sales, and Programming
