Intern with Falmouth Community Television’s (FCTV) Digital Navigator Program to help local residents gain the essential digital skills, tools, and confidence needed to thrive in today’s connected world.
Qualifications
- Interest in the goal to bridge the digital divide
- Digital literacy skills- comfort with mobile devices, computer and internet tools like Zoom, Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace, accessing online services (health, community, etc.)
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Teamwork, problem solving, and organizational skills
- Successful completion of a CORI (Criminal Offender Record Information) check
- Skilled in the production of short multilingual instructional videos
- Able to work part-time hours
Duties
- Assist with community outreach to connect eligible residents with digital navigation services like device and internet use, online tools, and essential digital tasks
- Assess needs of partners and clients (devices, skills, internet access)
- Create personalized learning plans and provide one-on-one assistance and small-group digital skills instruction to digitally disadvantaged populations, including seniors, veterans, low-income residents
- Explain basic technology concepts clearly, patiently, and accessibly, ensuring residents feel confident—not intimidated—by technology
- Deliver continued support in person or through email, phone, text, or video chat
- Maintain documentation of all activities as an intern with FCTV’s Digital Navigator Program
