Cowles Montana Media Company is seeking a news producer.
Qualifications
- Minimum of one year of experience at a live commercial media outlet.
- Degree in Journalism, Communications, Media or similar field preferred.
- Strong writing skills and news judgment.
- Must be well read on current affairs and have a wide range working knowledge and understanding of general interest subjects.
- Excellent time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize, multi-task and work under shifting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Duties
- Focuses on accuracy and strong writing in scripts. Works closely with anchors, reporters and other producers to create accurate, informative, and engaging content.
- Manage content and story treatment and work with newsroom managers to best showcase that content on any platform NonStop Local supports.
- Produce and write assigned segments, which may include non-linear newscasts.
- Ensure memorable moments and stories are communicated to the Content Manager and digital team to be shared on digital and social platforms.
- Participate in daily planning meetings. Contribute ideas for news programming based on research and our news strategy.
