Arch Street Communications, Inc. (ASC), a New York State certified women-owned business enterprise (WBE), is seeking interns for the Summer 2025 term. ASC has delivered strategic communications and public engagement services to state, regional and federal agencies and leading private sector organizations since 1992. We help clients communicate about issues that affect Americans - energy, environment, transportation, and public safety.
Internships at ASC offer experience in renewable energy, transportation, infrastructure, marketing communications, workforce development, and public engagement. This includes supporting event planning, monitoring news related to energy, environment, economy, and transportation, and contributing to strategic communication and public relations work for our clients' projects and campaigns. Interns also participate in both internal and client-facing meetings for project planning and deliverable support.
Qualifications
- Background and demonstrated interest in renewable energy, workforce development, event planning, environmental science, and/or the climate sector
- Knowledge of current events in the environment, transportation, and energy sectors
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Self-starter who can collaborate with a team
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
- Experience with a remote work setting:
- Proficiency in collaboration tools such as Slack, SharePoint, Zoom, Teams and other web-based collaboration tools
- Strong online communication skills
- Availability from 9:00 am through 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday
- Must be able to travel to the ASC office in Midtown Manhattan once every other week and for events as needed – ASC is otherwise entirely remote
Duties
- Draft and edit a range of written client deliverables for targeted audiences, including social media and web content, newsletters, reports, fact sheets, and other materials
- Support and attend in-person and virtual client events including public hearings, workshops, and other stakeholder engagement activities
- Provide research assistance to support the delivery of accurate, relevant, and strategic communication products
- Learn, discuss, and apply tactics for inclusive and equitable community engagement
- Attend meetings and provide necessary administrative support, including meeting agendas and notes
- Produce, organize, and maintain internal and client documents in ASC’s filing system
