Are you interested in understanding the key functions of public relations? Would you like to be part of the planning and execution of exciting projects from start to finish? 

This unpaid internship program is designed to provide students an in-depth knowledge of the exciting and ever-evolving public relations industry, with an emphasis in the beauty and wellness spaces. You will be immersed in the day-to-day duties of what a publicist role entails, while also gaining valuable experience. While working in a dynamic, goal oriented environment, you will also have the opportunity to tap into your creative side, while learning how to problem solve, plan and execute various PR tactics. 

Qualifications

  • Someone with a passion for the beauty and wellness industries. Knowledgeable and interested in keeping up with the latest trends and products. Organized and detail oriented. Eager to learn in a fast-paced environment and ability to multitask efficiently. Avid reader of beauty publications and follower of beauty/fashion/wellness/lifestyle influencers (Instagram, TikTok).

Duties

  • Overall PR planning & research. Participation in team meetings/brainstorms. Assistance with new product launch initiatives, media events, deskside appointments, etc. Media Outreach. List building. Understanding the components of a pitch and effective storytelling. Creative mailing ideation and execution. Use of Industry. Tools including: Reporting: Cision, MuckRack, SimilarWeb, Google Drive. Social platforms - Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Pinterest. Client Reporting. Organization of press trackers. Press clip maintenance.

Additional Notes

Time Commitment: Approximately 15 Hours/week
Unpaid internship: school credit available + stipend 
Start Date: Winter/Spring 2025
